Trumbull Little League is pleased to announce our new Trumbull Diamonds travel softball program for 2020! The program is tryout-based, and is open to girls who are Trumbull residents, have played softball before, and who will be enrolling in the core TLL spring season in 2020.
The program’ professional director is Sam Colon - click here to read Sam's Bio. Parent volunteers will be needed to coach each team (one head coach and two assistants – like core little league). The program director’s duties will include the logistics of the winter workouts and spring season scheduling, and providing indoor instruction to supplement the coaches, including specialty instructors for pitching and catching. The volunteer coaches will still run the games and practices as with any team.
Based on the level of interest, from both players and volunteer coaches, we are able to offer teams at the 8U, 10U, and 12U level:
8U - players age 7 or 8 as of December 31, 2019
10U - players age 9 or 10 as of December 31, 2019
12U - players age 11 or 12 as of December 31, 2019
At the completion of the TLL Fall Ball season, tryouts will be held on Saturday October 26th at a time and place to be determined. Players will be selected based on ability and attitude and not all who try out will make a team. All teams will be established and families will be notified by the second week of November.
Anticipated player fee is estimated at $1000-$1200 total for the winter and spring.
The time commitment will be discussed with the families at the tryouts. Winter workouts will take place from January through March, at one of the local indoor facilities. The spring season will take place from April thru mid-July. The spring season will include a combination of practices, games, and tournaments – and will be scheduled around the core little league season so that conflicts are minimized.
Again, girls must also register for the TLL Spring 2020 core Little League season to be eligible for this travel softball opportunity.
